Kalin grew up in the United States alongside his younger brother, Kassian McCarrell Wilson. His parents’ careers gave him a connection to the world of filmmaking from an early age, and he eventually appeared in movies himself.
However, acting was not his only interest. Kalin also developed a passion for fashion, particularly streetwear, and pursued football during his school years.
These interests gradually opened different opportunities for him. Rather than concentrating on one profession immediately, he began exploring entertainment, modeling, and education.
Kalin Patrick Wilson’s Age and Education
Born in June 2006, Kalin Patrick Wilson turned 20 on June 23, 2026. He entered adulthood while developing his interests in acting and fashion.
According to a 2024 profile in The Fashionisto, Kalin was studying cinema and philosophy as a college freshman. His interest in cinema connects naturally with his acting experience, while philosophy offers a broader field of academic study.
He also attended Montclair High School in New Jersey, where he played football. His transition from high school to college involved balancing academic responsibilities with his creative ambitions.
Kalin’s education is an important part of his story because his career has not followed a single, straightforward path. He has pursued opportunities in entertainment while continuing his studies and athletic activities.
How Kalin Wilson Started Acting
Kalin’s acting career began when he was young. Two of his early film appearances came in 2014, when he appeared in Let’s Kill Ward’s Wife and Big Stone Gap.
In Let’s Kill Ward’s Wife, he played Percy Simpson. The dark comedy follows a group of friends whose frustration with one man’s wife leads to an increasingly complicated situation.
That same year, Kalin appeared as Jared Tinsley in Big Stone Gap, a romantic comedy-drama set in a small Virginia town. The film featured an ensemble cast that included his father, Patrick Wilson.
These early appearances gave Kalin experience in professional film productions. Although the roles were supporting parts, they introduced him to the practical side of acting, including working with a cast and performing for the camera.
His early credits also helped establish his filmography before he entered his teenage years.
His Role in Insidious: The Red Door
Kalin returned to the screen in 2023 with Insidious: The Red Door, a supernatural horror film directed by Patrick Wilson.
The movie continues the story of the Lambert family, whose lives are connected to a frightening supernatural dimension known as the Further. Patrick Wilson plays Josh Lambert, while Ty Simpkins and Rose Byrne also appear in leading roles.
Kalin was credited as a fraternity server, using the professional name Kal Wilson. His role was small, but the film brought him into a major franchise with an established international audience.
Working on a production connected to his father’s career also placed him within a familiar filmmaking environment. Nevertheless, Kalin’s own performance credits remain distinct from his father’s leading role and directing work.
The film became another notable entry in his developing acting career.
Kalin Patrick Wilson’s Modeling Career
A significant turning point came in April 2024, when Kalin signed a modeling contract with DT Model Management, a Los Angeles-based agency.
At the time, he was 17 years old and preparing to begin college. The announcement attracted attention because he was pursuing professional modeling alongside his academic and athletic interests.
The agency represents models for fashion photography, campaigns, and other professional assignments. Its representation gave Kalin a route into the fashion industry and an opportunity to develop his portfolio.
Kalin has also spoken about his interest in streetwear brands such as Supreme and Bape. His fashion interests extend to labels he hopes to work with as his modeling career develops.
In an interview published by People in 2024, he explained that his experience on film sets helped him understand the process of working in front of a camera. He compared the repeated takes involved in acting with the process of fashion photography.
His modeling career is still developing, but signing with a professional agency marked an important step beyond his early acting appearances.
Kalin’s Interest in Football
Football has been another important part of Kalin’s life. During high school, he played the sport and attracted interest from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine.
Bowdoin’s official football roster listed Kal Wilson as a player in 2024. The roster recorded his participation in eight games that season, along with two unassisted tackles.
His college football experience shows that his interests extend beyond the entertainment industry. Playing a college sport requires regular training, coordination with teammates, and commitment to a competitive schedule.
Balancing football with education and modeling can involve careful time management. Kalin’s experience demonstrates how he pursued several interests during his transition from high school to college.
